Jéméa is a 10 year-old jengu (mami-wata), who learns that she is failing her initiation class at the same moment that the leaders of their undersee world reach the terrible decision of exterminating her school. How will Jéméa, her friends, classmates and teachers face that terrible destiny? For the Sawa people in Cameroon, Mami-Wata, the spirit of water is called Jengu (singular) and Miengu (plural). Their representation differs from the very common half-fish half- woman mermaid who have extraordinary powers. Immersion is the first book of a tetralogy. Mulatako is a self-published series.
